Minimums shown are indicative and vary by scheme, product and investor category. Always read the scheme document. Investments in foreign currency carry currency risk, may have lock-ins or limited liquidity, and regulations are still evolving. LRS limits and tax collection rules apply to resident Indians, and taxation depends on your circumstances. Availability depends on the product provider and your eligibility. This is general information and not a recommendation.

About the "standard deduction" on capital gains

There is no general standard deduction on capital gains. The relevant relief is the ₹1.25 lakh a year exemption on long-term gains from listed shares and equity-oriented mutual funds. It applies to the total of all such gains in a financial year, not to each scheme. Short-term gains get no such exemption, and no Chapter VI-A deductions or Section 87A rebate can be set against these gains. A resident individual whose other income is below the basic exemption limit can adjust the shortfall against these gains. Reinvestment reliefs such as Sections 54, 54F and 54EC apply to certain property gains.

      Worked examples

Illustrative only, based on rates in force for FY 2026-27 (equity STCG 20%, LTCG 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh, plus 4% cess and any applicable surcharge). From 1 April 2026 these provisions sit in the Income-tax Act, 2025 (for example Sections 196 and 198, earlier 111A and 112A). Tax treatment depends on your facts and can change. This is not tax advice, so please consult a tax professional.

Is this website giving me investment advice?

No. The content here is educational and the calculators are illustrative. invescredi is an AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN 365129), and Souvikk Banerjee is NISM certified. Options can be discussed in a conversation, and the decision always stays with you.

Do I have to invest in mutual funds?

No. Not everyone needs to, and not everyone needs to start there. Often the first steps are clarity on goals, an emergency fund, adequate protection and a comfortable level of borrowing. Products come up only when they fit your situation.

What happens in a first conversation?

We talk through your goals, your current position and your responsibilities. No product is pushed, and you decide whether to go further. You can start with the Financial Health Check to come prepared.

      Are returns guaranteed?

No. Market-linked investments can rise and fall, and you may get back less than you put in. The calculators on this site use assumptions you enter, so their results are illustrations, not forecasts or promises.

      How does the advisor earn?

As a mutual fund distributor, the advisor may earn commission from asset management companies when you invest through them, and for insurance, commission from the insurer. You are welcome to ask for details before you proceed.

      Who holds my money?

For mutual funds, investments are made in your own name with the fund house, and you receive statements directly from the fund house or its registrar. Ask us about how any other product you are considering works before you go ahead.

Does a loan enquiry mean I have applied for a loan?

No. An enquiry only starts a conversation. Interest rates, fees, eligibility, tenure and approval are decided by the lender, and nothing here is a sanction or a guarantee of approval.

What details do you need for a loan enquiry?

Your name, contact number, the type and amount of loan, and your profession. For a business purpose we also ask for the age of the business, its nature and turnover for the last two years. Any documents needed later depend on the lender.

What personal information do your forms ask for?

Only basic contact and enquiry details. We do not ask for PAN, Aadhaar or bank details in these forms, and an enquiry reaches us only when you choose to send it on WhatsApp or by email.

      Next step

Not sure what your next financial step should be?
